March 25 @ Dallas' Fairpark
|
The 2006 Easyriders V-Twin Expo
and Motorcycle Show at Dallas' Fairpark proved something I have long hoped
for: old school is cool again. Being a retro kinda guy,
that works for me! Don't get me wrong - the
fabrication and paint that go into some of the new stretched customs is
amazing. But I prefer a bike that looks like a 50's bobber or 60's
chopper instead of something out of an anime cartoon. This year
there were more "old school" bikes than in previous years. Indian
Larry would have been proud. His spirit and influence was
everywhere. But these bikes still use modern parts, paint, and
construction - the best of both worlds! Best of all,
they look like something a regular person might be able to
build at home. There is no way I could build one of Arlen Ness'
wild bikes more than a few on this page I might be able to construct with
enough patience (and money). It was an inspiring show. |
Keep it Old Skool Kool Kats!
